Returning to learning after a decade or three

My journey to university was somewhat different to the ‘typical’ student. Unlike most of my cohort, I didn’t start my degree straight after my A’levels, or even a few years later. I left school, worked, and brought up a family before I finally got around to filling in that UCAS application. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to study at university – I did – but other things always got in the way, so before I knew it my own children had embarked on degree courses, and I still hadn’t made that initial step. I kept saying this was something I wanted but never actually did anything about it. And, as time passed, I began to feel that maybe I’d left it too late. Continue reading
